The Moon Watchers

Title: The Moon Watchers
Rating: PG-13
Genre: fantasy, historical, romance, action-adventure
Warnings: some graphic imagery
Word Count: 7,940
Summary: A lost prince, banished from his home and forced to wander the Earth without hope of return. A gypsy girl, eager to revenge herself on those who have persecuted her and her kind for generations. A curse that binds them together, even when they are worlds apart. A story about survival, triumph, and love that spans two millennia.
Notes: just to clarify, because some things are not explained until later in the narrative: they live on the moon, which they call "Diana". the culture is something like a mix of ancient Greece and medieval England, but is not supposed to be particular to any one place or period. the city in which they live is situated in the crater of Mare Ingenii, which is on the dark side of the moon.

The Moon Watchers

this is my NaNoWriMo novel for 2012. it starts off a little weak, but gets better. (in fact, I really rather dislike the opening section altogether; I have a feeling it's going to get a rewrite once this month is over.)

Ten Winters in the Desert / Chapter One

Title: Ten Winters in the Desert
Rating: R
Genre: fantasy, action-adventure, romance
Summary: Growing up as a slave in the heart of the barren desert, Tienna knows all about pain and suffering, and little about anything else. Foul-mouthed, spirited, and rebellious, only the rare talent that she possesses - a gift for nurturing plant life which grows so scarcely in the wastelands - keeps a cruel master and his cold second-in-command, Serapris - her personal nemesis - from killing her outright. But when a new slaver enters the compound and begins to take a peculiar interest in her, and makes her start to question everyone's intentions, she finds in herself gifts that go far beyond anything her oppressors could have imagined; and she discovers that hope can come from unexpected places... and salvation, from unthinkable ones.

It's just a little thing all wrapped up

something I just wrote randomly one day... not sure where it came from, or how far it might go. by the way, no one is gay in this piece.

originally supposed to be a horror piece, but I never got far enough for that to be explained correctly. so ignore the crapiness of it all...

hurrah, my new journal is up. I've no idea what I'll do with it yet. I'll figure that out later, I suppose.

I'm debating whether or not to make it friends-only. I probably won't, but let's see. I'm not fond of just anyone being able to come in here and read whatever I post, but I think it's too big of a hassle to make everything friends-locked and such.

anyway, it's a work in progress. I've been meaning to get around to opening this up for quite some time now, and I've finally done it.
